Storage by the Tote serves Baltimore-area customers who need flexible local storage without renting an entire storage unit.
Toterly brings reusable totes to you, picks up your packed belongings, stores them locally, and returns them when needed. You store the amount that fits your needs without making repeated trips to a storage unit or automatically paying for an entire room.
Your items are stored in a local facility, organized by order, and handled by a small local team. Totes and boxes are labeled and stacked securely for storage and return delivery.
In most cases, you or an approved contact should be available during the confirmed pickup or delivery window. If someone else will meet us, share their name and phone number before the scheduled time.

College Storage is Toterly’s student storage service for summer and semester transitions. We deliver totes, you pack at your own pace, and we pick up your totes and approved large items, store them locally, and return everything when you are ready.

Use Summer Storage if you need storage after move-out. Use Dorm Drop if you want to ship items ahead before move-in. Many families use Summer Storage for move-out and Dorm Drop when they want items ready before arrival.
Most students use 3–4 totes for a typical dorm room. The exact number depends on how much you are storing, whether you have approved large items, and how much you plan to take home.
The reusable tote used for College Storage measures 26" L × 19" W × 14" H, roughly comparable to a large airline checked suitcase. Storage by the Tote is a separate service with 20-gallon and 30-gallon tote options.
Yes. Parents and guardians can place orders, manage the details, and pay using the secure payment link. Include the student’s school, housing, and contact details on the form.
Submit the College Storage form and we will follow up to coordinate tote drop-off, pickup, and return delivery based on your school calendar and housing details.
Summer and Semester Storage is $24 per tote or approved large item per month, with a 4-month minimum. Pickup, storage, and standard return delivery are included. Optional wrapping is $15 per wrapped item.
Yes. Many students begin with an estimate and adjust before pickup. Contact Toterly as soon as possible if you need to add or remove totes so we can confirm availability and update the order.
Move-in day can include traffic, limited unloading time, crowded residence areas, elevator waits, and limited access to carts. Summer Storage returns stored belongings for move-in, while Dorm Drop helps families send items ahead instead of bringing everything on arrival day.
Dorm Drop lets you ship boxes, packages, and approved items to Toterly before the semester starts. We receive and store them, then deliver everything directly to your dorm or approved housing area around move-in.
You can sign up anytime of the year. Items can be shipped up to 45 days before classes start. To make sure you have enough time to ship items to us, complete the form at least two weeks before move-in.
After you submit the Dorm Drop form, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your unique reference number. That reference number should be included on every package label.
Standard boxes or totes can be up to 61" total dimensions using length + width + height. If your box is larger than that, contact us before shipping for approval or custom pricing.
Yes. Include your Toterly reference number with every shipment so packages can be matched to your order. Many online-retailer items are removed from their outer shipping boxes, and smaller items may be combined into Toterly totes when appropriate.
Yes, for qualifying orders we can pick up select items from participating local stores such as Home Depot, Lowe’s, or Micro Center when that option is offered on the form. Please submit a separate request for each store pickup.
We update your My Storage page and send email updates when shipments are received or picked up.
That button confirms all expected shipments have arrived. Once confirmed, we can finalize the invoice and enable payment when applicable.
Once we have received all your items and you have checked the "Mark All Shipments Received", you’ll receive a secure Stripe payment link. Payment must be completed before delivery scheduling is finalized.
We will send a delivery reminder and try to coordinate with you. If you miss your delivery window, Toterly may reschedule delivery or arrange pickup at our warehouse.
Storage by the Tote is a local Baltimore-area service for belongings you want to keep but do not need every day. Toterly delivers reusable totes, you pack them, and we pick them up and store them locally. When you need them back, contact Toterly to arrange return delivery.
A 20-gallon tote is $9 per month and a 30-gallon tote is $15 per month. The tote and monthly local storage are included. You can mix and match tote sizes. Contact Toterly for custom pricing if you need more than 12 totes.
Use the 20-gallon tote for smaller or denser belongings such as books, shoes, kitchen items, keepsakes, and smaller seasonal items. Use the 30-gallon tote for bulky, lightweight belongings such as bedding, clothing, holiday decorations, and lightweight memorabilia.
Storage is monthly, so you can keep your totes stored as long as you need the extra space.
Contact Toterly to request return delivery. We will confirm the available timing and the Baltimore-area address where you want your stored belongings delivered.
Yes. Toterly can deliver empty totes, pick up packed totes, and return stored belongings to different addresses within the Baltimore service area. Your pickup and return address can change from one visit to the next.
Monthly pricing includes the selected Toterly tote and local storage for that tote.
Toterly may accept select smaller furniture, artificial Christmas trees, folding chairs, lamps, small shelving, and other manageable household or seasonal items. Send us a photo so we can review the item and provide individual pricing.

We cannot accept perishables, leaking liquids, hazardous or flammable materials, loose batteries, illegal items, or valuables such as cash, jewelry, passports, or irreplaceable documents. Service-specific and housing rules may add other restrictions, so contact Toterly if you are unsure before packing.
College Storage totes can hold bedding, clothing, books, dorm décor, school supplies, and many common dorm items. Approved large items such as mini-fridges, microwaves, floor mirrors, bikes, chairs, and some desks may be stored separately when properly prepared.
Yes. Desks must be fully disassembled before pickup. Separate the desktop and legs so the pieces are flat. Place screws, bolts, and other hardware in a sealed bag and tape it securely to the item or place it in a tote.
Yes. College Storage customers may add a $15 per item wrapping service for approved items such as TVs, monitors, microwaves, mirrors, mini-fridges, and desk components.
If you wrap your own desk, wrap the desktop and legs securely. Drawers may be wrapped separately. TVs and monitors can sometimes be wrapped with desk components when packed safely. Remove monitor and TV stands first.
Mini-fridges must be clean, fully emptied, and dry, with the door taped or secured shut. Microwaves should be empty. If the glass plate stays inside, wrap it for protection and tape the door closed.
Yes. Protect the corners and fully wrap or cover the mirror to help reduce scratches and glass damage during handling and storage.
Yes. Toterly provides one complimentary vacuum storage bag per College Storage order with a tote reservation. Leave the bag accessible during pickup so our team can vacuum seal it and place it in a tote.
Call or text 1-844-771-5500 before pickup. We will review the item and tell you whether it can be accepted and how it should be prepared.
Items should be packed, broken down when required, and ready at the confirmed pickup time. If an item is not properly prepared, Toterly may need to reschedule the pickup.
